MME Over Protection

MME manufacture mechanical overload protection devices — torque limiters, slip clutches, and safety couplings — used in automated production lines where a mechanical failure in the wrong place can destroy downstream equipment. The value of the product is its invisibility: it only matters when something goes wrong. Demonstrating what happens when something goes wrong requires either destroying a machine or animating it.

The animation is structured in two halves. The first shows a production line running normally — rendered with enough mechanical detail to feel like a real system, not a schematic. The second shows the same line encountering an overload event: a jam, a sudden torque spike. Without the MME device, the failure propagates through the driveline and destroys the downstream gearbox. With it, the coupling disengages, the machine stops, and the operator resets in under a minute. The contrast is the argument.

MME use the animation as the centrepiece of their trade show presence and as a pre-qualification asset in their sales process. Their sales team reports it consistently shortens the technical explanation phase of client conversations, particularly with buyers who are not mechanical engineers.
